The Price is Cartwright

Halfway there, how are you looking?

Well good news there’s some rookies out there to get you to the top of your league but you must act quickly.

David Klemmer

David Klemmer had a strong game last week despite his awkward running style (what happened there!?). Klemmer is a huge kid and yes, he is still a kid, the NYC graduate has been around for a little while having been too good for the Holden Cup in his final year of eligibility. Check to see if he is available in your league because this kid has a bright future despite his slight brush with the law.  So far he hasn’t cracked 25 involvements in his games, but his Points Per Minute are good and he could snaffle a sneaky try off your bench.

Isaah Yeo is back! Did you hold into him? Whoa that’s not even the exciting news, but more on that later. Unfortunately Idris has some personal problems but Yeo gets another chance in the top grade. Penrith seem to be a well run professional club and I would expect Idris to get a nice healthy break which means Yeo will have the time to show his talents. If you need a new centre here he is.

Wow there are some superstars listed to play this week, I’ll start with a player who might not get a go given he has been given the 18th man jersey but if you know something grab him! The Roosters Willis Meehan is a huge 18 year old. I was lucky enough to watch him play NSW Cup last week and he played very well against men. Meehan has a huge future!

Fa’amanu Brown is the future at the Sharks. Brown has the ability to play from half to hooker and all very well. He can lead his players around the field and will take the line on with great acceleration.

“Interesting decision for Sharks coach James Shepherd this week with Michael Lichaa set to come back – Fa’amanu Brown played amazingly well, making a strong claim to stay as hooker. He is a good ball runner, perhaps he could fit in at lock.”

An excerpt from a review from a game in 2013 in which Brown scored four tries including the winner.

Or this from a game earlier this year:

“Fa’amanu Brown took in the like a professional half, made the break and got to the last line of defense, brown then threaded a pin point pass between two defenders to Sage Wilder supporting up the middle.”

Bryce Cartwright

Perhaps the best rookie debuting this week is the 2013 Holden Cup Player of the year Bryce Cartwright. Cartwright has the ability to be playing for New South Wales well within five years. He has great size, strength and speed. Cartwright has a great offload which will really help with potential try assists. I could go on and on about Cartwright but he is one of the most well known Holden Cup players so I’ll save you the time.
