The Cornish Raider
Origin da da da da da Origin.
Gosh I love Origin period! Watching last years Holden Cup stars play makes me sing show tunes.
Did you see Moses Mbye stand up last Friday night? He was my standout player for the Bulldogs in a type of performance that clubs looking elsewhere for a half would have made inquiries to his manager. He came away with just one try assists from an NRLCEO perspective, but he should have had a try as well.
But that was last week and this week it is Mitchell Cornish’s turn. Cornish was the second best half back in last years Holden Cup behind Luke Brooks. Cornish is a player we will have to keep an eye on unless you’re desperate. He is coming off the bench for starters, but you would have to question the type of side he would be leading around, he just won’t have the same impact Mbye did last week.
Meanwhile at the Broncos Francis Molo had a game last week and has been named on the extended bench this week. Molo was the Broncos Holden Cup players of the year two years ago and has risen through the Brisbane ranks very quickly. He will be a NRL prop for years to come. More than likely he will only play during Origin this year but keep and eye on him next year!
Every Souths Holden Cup graduate is on fire at the moment, grab any of them you can for Origin period and some beyond. Souths are in decent form and will surely build. Dylan Walker, Kirisome Auva’a, Alex Johnston and Apisai Koroisau could all help your side if they haven’t been snaffled already.
