Round 17 Dream Teams

Looking at the best performances each week to determine the Team of the Week and using the player’s season totals to determine the overall Dream Team for 2016 on a week by week basis.

Round 17 Team of the Week:

NRLCEO Team of the Week Round 17 2016

A massive surprise entry for Player of the Week this round with Ricky Leutele (15) taking the title after returning his first ever double digit score on NRLCEO.  It was his highest score since Round 7, 2014 and his first ever try scoring double. Well done son.

Just a point behind him were another three players – Sosaia Feki, Jarrod Croker and Jamie Buhrer.

It was Feki’s second highest NRLCEO score of all time after his 15 point hat-trick in Round 10 this year, his third double (or more) try performance this year and his seventh of all time.

Captain Croker managed to score over 200 NRLCEO points for the year on Sunday afternoon. His points tally including goals is now 206 and he could well score his highest total of his career which is currently 264 in 2015. He would need more than 6.5 points per game to get there but he’s currently averaging 12.8 per game, so I’m backing him to get there.

Jamie Buhrer also had a fantastic game against abysmal Dragons defence. His 14 points was his highest NRLCEO return of all time and almost half his entire total for last year (25). He scored a 90 metre try, workhorse, two line breaks and a double metre eater to boot. His 216 metres run was more than 50 metres more than his highest ever return too.

Overall Dream Team:

NRLCEO Dream Team Round 17 2016

Each week we will accumulate the points for each player to come up with the Overall Dream Team for 2016.

James Graham (122) will retains the most slender of leads over Ryan James (120) in the overall NRLCEO MVP. Both had very quiet games by their standards and scored only four points each. Anthony Milford (116) dropped a point on them both but is still only one good game away from taking the lead!

We had two new entries to the century club this week as James Tedesco (101) and Sam Burgess (100) raised their bats. We highlighted Sam Burgess’ consistency in his statistics last week, so this week we’re going to take a look at NSW latest debutante and an NRLCEO favourite. Tedesco started the year with a BANG being the quickest player to score 50 points after just five rounds! He was unstoppable. His next 50 has taken 12 weeks, but just seven games due to injury. So in actual fact his season average of eight points per game is match only by James Graham and Ryan James, he’s just played less footy. After scoring 30 points in his last four games he’s back on track to take the title of NRLCEO MVP if he fires once again.

There are three new entries returning to the Dream Team this week. Two players are returning in Tom Trobojevic (81) and Elliott Whitehead (85). This time though Tommy Turbo is returning in the role of a centre after his recent upgrade and will soon have a fullback upgrade too. What a valuable player he has become this year and will hopefully continue to be in the future.

With Tedesco and Burgess converting their tons, the next in line for an NRLCEO century is between Jordan Rapana (91) and Cameron Smith (94). Smith has the bye this week so if Jordan can rack up two tries against the Cowboys, then it’s his for the taking. Who would put it past him?

Here is the full Dream Team after seventeen rounds:

1. James Tedesco (101)
2. Jordan Rapana (91)
3. Tom Trbojevic (81) – NEW
4. Cameron Munster (81)

10. Ryan James (120)
