Position Updates 2016
The flexibility of TheBench platform and the removal of position restrictions means that we are able to change player positions mid-season.
The rules that we have set aside are that if a player starts three games in a row in a position they are not named as eligible for on NRLCEO then we will change them AFTER their third game. This allows us to be responsive fairly quickly to changes, but also removes the need to change players if they are only filling in for a position temporarily due to injuries in their squad. Please note that players starting from the bench do not qualify for position updates as it’s hard to determine their position for sure.
We will also update their positions if they play five games non-concurrently throughout the season in another position. This is to reward those flexible utility players that fill in other positions throughout the year.
With all that in your melon, we now list all of the players who have had positional changes throughout the year so far:

Think Nathan Brown from Souths is a game away from back row too ?
Hey JB,
Love your work, Apisai Koroisau due an update to Half back, RD 5,6,7?
So he is! Not sure how I missed that one. Fixed now.
Hi JB,
I thought Ben Hampton was there and thereabouts for an update to Centre. Any idea?
He’s played there in Rounds 6 and 7. So he’s got one more week to go. Round 5 he was named there but then started off the bench.
Korbin Sims as BR for round 9 or 10?
Perret the key winner from Whoppa’s Sunday deal, FB after round 12?
He is indeed! Thanks Ron.
Lolohea was named at fullback 3 times with a game break due to injury. Does that count?
Unfortunately it means his count starts again. He still needs another two games now.
Lolohea played once, then one week off with injury, now twice more. Shouldn’t he just need one more for three in a row?
Seems bizarre if the three consecutive in a new position has to be games 1-3 and can’t be games 2-4.
How long does Cody Walker have until he qualifies as a full back?
One more game required Mr Bullock. So hopefully Round 15.
Wouldn’t 11, 13 and 14 be 3 consecutive using the same theory that got Inglis and Lolohea upgraded?
Bryce Cartwright has played 2 in a row at five eight, round 14, bye, round 16.
Good one! Added now.
For adding to the list:
David Fusitua (Fullback) has played 2 games in Fullback. Three more, or 2 more in a row
Cartwright still not 5/8?
Sorry guys. I missed this one. Updated now.
I can’t name Cartwright at 6 either! Gunna need him there this week!
Hey Jb, Brett Morris due an upgrade to winger? Round 16,17,18.
Hasn’t Inglis played 2 straight at centre? Rd 16 & 17 therefore only 1 more for centre?
Is Manu Ma’u due for centre if he starts there (as named) this week against the Titans?
Cheers
That’s correct Trent. He needs just one more game this week. Thanks for the heads up.
Jamie Lyon now Five-eighth? He has started Manly’s last 3 games in that position.
Yes! Missed that one. Updated now.
Hey JB
Couple more for you mate. Clinton “Wally Lewis” Gutherson started the last 2 games at 5/8th. If he starts there this week against the Tiges he should get the upgrade.
The other one is little more difficult. Lewis Brown has played all over the park this year for the Sea Eagles. But I think he is due an upgrade to centre. I have him starting in the centres in round 4 against the Roosters; round 10 against the Broncos; round 15 against the Titans; round 19 against the Warriors; and yesterday against the Bunnies.
Cheers
Sione Mata’utia should be dual 2nd row now too, played 2 at 2nd row, missed 3 weeks, played last week 2nd row.
Sorry Adam. Not yet. It needs to be three in a row or five total. I know he was injured, but the rules are clear.
Hey JB, Obviously playing the Nufti lottery here but did Paasi get promoted to starting Prop round 23 to give him his 5th start in the front row?
Cheers
You’re dead right. Sorry I missed that one. It’s been a long process for him. Fixed now.
