NRLCEO STATE OF ORIGIN – Game II
Every rugby league fan loves the State of Origin rivalry, now we are bringing it to NRLCEO. A three match series to be played in the full NRL rounds prior to the big bye rounds, so our series will be the prelude to the real State Of Origin. The matches will be played in NRL Rounds 12, 15 and 18. The top scoring player in each position that is eligible to play State Of Origin will be selected to play. If a player is not selected to play in that coming round, or is ruled out due to injury prior to the round starting, will be replaced by the next highest scoring player eligible to play Origin. Players from the team that has the bye in those 3 rounds will not be considered for selection. Teams will be announced on the Wednesday prior to the start of the nominated NRL round. Scores will be updated in this post during the Round.
GAME 1 – NRL Round 12 (23rd – 26th May) QLD 122 – NSW 113
QLD take out Game I of the series, winning 122-113. Valentine Holmes was the standout performer for QLD with 28pts, whilst James Tedesco scored 21pts off the bench for the Blues. It was a disappointing match for Nicho Hynes who may find himself dropped for Game II.
GAME 2 – NRL Round 15 (13th – 16th June) NSW 116 – QLD 99
NSW bounces back with a commanding 116-99 win in Game II. The Blues forwards outscored their opponents 55-35 which laid the platform for Hynes (12) and Drinkwater (11) to pile on the points. Daly Cherry-Evans (15) led a valiant fightback for QLD but they were out muscled in the middle. We now look forward to a decider in Game III.
