I will be tracking the NRLCEO scores all year to determine what effect it might have on the table.
This week we had another upset against the NRL scores! Read all about it below.
Sea Eagles 12 vs Bulldogs 16
The late exclusion of Jamie Lyon really hurt Manly this week 0/3 kicks this game Daly Cherry-Evans earnt his much annoyed one kicker point this week with his 0/1 but bagged all three try assists and is looking better every week his the monkey is off his back and his future is all but locked up. Jamie Buhrer was expected this year to be a guaranteed workhorse flirting with the double most weeks but falls short this week and isn’t looking promising, keep an eye on his involvements sticking to an edge in attack and defence. Tom Symonds looks to be taking Buhrers role and is getting a workhorse easy at the moment.
The Bulldogs are scoring well in the forwards as expected with their main three WH’s and new recruit Michael Lichaa doing the brunt of the work. Only the solid go forward of their pack can make Sam Perrett look like a great CEO player, his new duel position makes him a great keeper. Tim Lafai bagging a double is promising as he wasn’t just finishing off others great work like Perrett.

Broncos 44 vs Cowboys 22
The Broncos managed to score more than their two first games combined in CEO points this week. Corey Parker has managed to score his customary one try of the year so don’t expect that to be a normal thing. He kicked well which is a relief for all those with him at this point but doesn’t look close to a double yet and unless something happens on the park to other players don’t expect one for some time if at all this year. Lachlan Maranta bagged two tries and three line breaks which is a solid effort against what should be a top four side. Away to Warriors this week expect a lot closer affair, which is good news for anyone holding their forwards as none got a WH comfortably last week. Adam Blair improved greatly this time around 15 runs which is good for “Teddy Blair”. Jordan Kahu had blinder not only scoring but setting two up with line break assists to match.
Johnathan Thurston still isn’t living up to his first round pick of many comps, 10 points isn’t horrible but when it’s his high score you’ve got problems. Cowboys have a tough few rounds ahead of them and many would of expected at least 2/3 so far. Ben Hannant moving to the bench will worry some with James Tamou taking his spot and his workhorse stats. Ethan Lowe impresses again. Their backline will keep changing until they can get it right and the move for Michael Morgan from fullback to halfback should worry some.

Warriors 29 vs Eels 16
Only two WH’s this week Simon Mannering nearly getting a double for lack of metres. The Warriors hooker situation is a no go zone unless someone gets injured with Nathan Friend and Thomas Leuluai unable to even combine for a WH, poor form. Their backline is chopping and changing too much to put stock in their good performances with two starters from last year close the recovery. However Solomone Kata should keep his spot and Manu Vatuvei is always worth playing especially back at home next week to the Broncos.
The Eels are the team I would steer clear of this week and bench were possible. Their two gun backrowers in Anthony Watmough and Tepai Moeroa both played sub 60 minutes and keep sustaining niggling injuries bringing them from the field. Until such time as they are both 100% fit start them at your own risk. Nathan Peats is still sharing the minutes at hooker but doing the work when he’s out there, his minutes are increasing and so will his workload. Tohu Harris, what a gem of a game with 17 CEO points. Dale Finucane has fallen short once more but in a high scoring game it is understandable, so don’t panic yet. Titans 18 vs Knights 20
The only upset of the week with the Titans doing in CEO what they cannot in the NRL, win a game. Beating the Knights by a point which would have been five if Daniel Mortimer was still listed as hooker/ HB getting the involvements for a WH this week. He is out this week with a broken thumb but could of easily as been dropped had the injury not occurred. Taking his place is Kane Elgey with huge wraps on the kid, I’ve taken the punt and picked him up this week as I played without a HB last week, not much of a punt though really. The Knights only managed two WH’s this week with an array of players coming agonizingly close, however Kade Snowden did it easy with 53. The need for Sione Mata’utia to be in the team and Kurt Gidley shifting to hooker has ruined the stock of Adam Clydsdale if he is your first choice hooker it is time to look elsewhere. Three weeks into this experiment and we’ve seen the second upset going to the Titans.
Notable things to watch are the against column for each team. The Knights, whilst losing on the weekend have the least points scored against them as worth noting if your backs are up against them this week. Souths are looking strong topping both tables with a great point difference.
A lot of teams were able to double their for this week with some big scores. If this trend continues play your backs up against the Cowboys and Manly.
