Holmes is where the heart is
Valentine Holmes had a cracker of a game. Holmes is a fullback playing on the wing. With the Sharks in poor form I wouldn’t force you to trade for him but I would definitely draft him into my side next year so if you are in a keeper league he is worth a look. Holmes and Brown were apart of the same Holden Cup side at the start of the year, they are the future of the Sharks and both have bright futures. I would like to see Holmes at fullback and perhaps Brown at hooker.
If you didn’t jump quick enough to snaffle Alex Johnston 10 weeks ago now that’s too bad because after his hat trick he is just about known by everybody in Australia now, not just CEOs with a keen eye. 14 tries in his first 10 NRL games could just about win him Rookie of the Year at the Dally M, let alone the awards he could win for NRLCEO. South Sydney don’t have the easiest of runs home though so don’t stress if you can’t pick him up, but just hope he doesn’t score against you in the finals!
Sadly NYC Reports player of the year last year Bryce Cartwright is likely out for the rest of the season with an ankle injury. Cartwright was gathering great press from the mainstream media for his performances and I’m sure he would have kept improving on the way to the finals. If you can possibly replace Cartwright with Isaah Yeo I would recommend doing so.
We are starting to get to another exciting time of year for rookies where teams no longer in the race for finals start to give some Holden Cup stars their first crack at NRL – particularly those in keeper leagues looking to unearth the next superstar! So for any CEO’s who are close to the end of your season don’t give up just yet because you’re overnight sensation could be just around the corner!
