Dyl’s Trading 101

Trading 101

1. Always try and get one up on your opposite number (but be sneaky)

When you trade you want to be better off that where you were before. If you can trick them into thinking they’ve got the best deal then you’ve done your job.

2. Utilise your strengths and target your oppositions weaknesses

If you’ve got five quality backrowers and are short a winger, then target the guy that has spare wingers but a weak backrow. Not rocket science, but it works.

3. You have to be willing to get worse to get better

There’s no simple fix. You’ve got to try and trade up in one area and then utilise the stocks elsewhere down the track. For example, stock up on hookers and then start trading them out when the other CEOs think there is a drought.

4. Never become emotional invested in players

Don’t get attached to players. Make them just numbers on paper in your mind. You overvalue players if you start to get emotionally invested.

5. Try something different

Offer things outside of players to sweeten the deal. Whether it be draft picks for next season, beers or cash.
