Captains Call: Round 19

Welcome to week 19 of Captains Call.

What a final seven rounds we are going to have! The ladder is that close this year that even 14th place, the Dragons, still have a chance of making top eight as they are only two wins away. The reality is though, I can see only one possible change being made to the top eight and that the Knights dropping out for the Broncos. The battle for the top four will be fierce as only the Storm has cemented a top four spot, with the Rabbits not far off. Only two wins separate third and seventh.

Either way its going to be a great final seven founds and I can’t wait!

Let’s preview five for this week and don’t forget to vote or leave a comment below.

David Klemmer

The Blues prop has been huge this year, leading the Knights pack each week. After the fade-out last week to the Roosters they will be looking to bounce back with Klemmer leading from the front.

Damien Cook

Cook has been a bit quiet by his own standards the last five weeks, expect that to change this week. The Dragons have been exploited up the middle in recent weeks and that’s where Cook does his damage. This could get ugly.

Jake Trbojevic

The leader of the Manly forward pack, Jake will be looking to have a blinder against the ladder leaders, Storm. He will have a major say in this game and if he can be at his best then they have a chance of winning. At worst case he will get a workhorse, maybe a little more.

Kalyn Ponga

First game back in a few weeks and he didn’t disappoint against the Roosters. If the Knights get the field position, they could really do a number on the Tigers with Ponga cashing in.

Corey Oates

Oates is one of the leading try scorers this year and the Titans right edge defence was terrible against the Storm. If the Broncos pepper that edge, Oates could cross the line more than once.
