More Acronyms Graduate from NYC
I don’t remember so many extended benches, either way clubs have been nice enough to signal some possible rookie debuts. We will continue Mbye watch later but first lets look at some sure things.
I’m happy to see Dylan Walker move to the centres for Souths. The Rabbitohs need some weapons out wide, he can fill that role and I think his points will benefit. Apisai Koroisau did well to nail a Workhorse on debut and will be even better for the hit out.
Dallin Watene-Zelezniak is preparing for his First Grade debut this week. The Holden Cup winning winger is a long term NRL prospect. DWZ is one of the young Panthers that represent the next generation at Penrith, he will play plenty of NRL, I just can’t tell you how much in 2014 sadly. Now this might be completely irrelevant, but the Panthers now have three home games in a row, this surely is a dream situation for a rookie!?
Look for DWZ to be get involved in the game, he won’t shy away from doing extra work to give his forwards a rest. In the Holden Cup he could bag a heap of tries. I’ll personally be looking to bring this exciting kid into my own side.
Another one of the hyphenated names; the Warriors have named to Raymond Faitala-Mariner at the end of a very long extended bench. I rank Faitala-Mariner as the second best second rower from last years Holden Cup.
This is from a review of a game against the Bulldogs last year, “Faitala-Mariner was at it again, and again looked to have skills beyond the Holden Cup competition. Receiving the ball down the right flank, running at the line with the ball in front, a quick left step, he drags his man Mbye, a pretty solid defender, across and attracts Rintoul the outside man, a quick neat pass to Kata his centre and a try, 30 – 20.”
Pauli Pauli gets a start from the bench this week for Parramatta furthering the Eels tradition of repeating names.
Pauli is a big lump of a lad and a strong runner of the football. I haven’t had the chance to watch a lot of Pauli but he did seen to be big enough to handle NRL, I can’t comment on his maturity. Personally I would watch him this week and take a chance that no one picks him up and decide for yourself.
Mbye continues to dominate the number 19 jersey and doesn’t look to be giving it up any time soon. I sit, I wait, I wish.
