Round 20 Dream Team
Looking at the best performances each week to determine the Team of the Week and using the player’s season totals to determine the overall Dream Team for 2016 on a week by week basis.
Round 20 Team of the Week:
Ben Barba (20) has taken off! He has taken his game to a new level in the past few weeks and he was actually unlucky not to have a hat-trick in this game too! Considering he would have been a Round 15 or below draft pick then he is probably propelling you towards NRLCEO finals if you have him. This week was his best performance since we’ve played NRLCEO on TheBench in 2013 and consisted of two tries, three try assists, one line break, three line break assists and a metre eater.
For my mighty Raiders, our captain consistent Jarrod Croker (19) had a day to remember. His 19 point hat-trick effort was the best of his NRLCEO career and propelled him past 100 NRLCEO points for the year too.
In most week’s 17 points would give you the Player of the Week Title, but Jack Bird (17) saw himself with the third highest score for the week.
There were also notable achievements this week from Valentine Holmes (15), Antonio Winterstein (14) and Trent Merrin (13).
Note: NRLCEO points are based on tries (4), workhorses (4), double workhorses (8), try assists (2), line breaks (1), line break assists (1), metre eaters (2), double metre eaters (4), field goals (1), 40/20’s (1), sin bins (-2) and send offs (-4).
SuperDraft points are based on tries (4), try assists (2), line breaks (1), line break assists (0.5), tackles (0.1), runs (0.1), field goals (1), 40/20’s (1), sin bins (-2) and send offs (-4)
Overall Dream Team:
Each week we will accumulate the points for each player to come up with the Overall Dream Team for 2016.
James Graham (134) still holds the overall lead, but perhaps not for long!
Ben Barba (126) is hot on his heels and reeling him in at a rapid rate! Just one more two try effort and he will have the overall lead. James Tedesco (107) has really dropped off the pace and after calling it early that he would stay in the team until the end I honestly think he has no chance of reeling in Barba now.
Only one new entry this week and he’s dipped in and out of this team all year. We welcome Tom Trbojevic (95) back into the centres as his permanent move to fullback starts to work for his try scoring capacity again.
On the overall list, it’s like a test match against Bangladesh – there are seven new entries to the NRLCEO century club this week! Cameron Smith (106), Trent Merrin (104), Jarrod Croker (101), Tohu Harris (101), Valentine Holmes (100), Jake Friend (101) and Mitch Rein (101) all cracked the magical three figures
The following players are still in the 90’s; Josh Hodgson (98), Shaun Johnson (98), Jake Trbojevic (97), Jordan Rapana (97), Cooper Cronk (96) and Elliott Whitehead (93).
Here is the full Dream Team after twenty rounds:
