NRL v NRLCEO Ladder: Rd 9
The Broncos continue to be the most talked about and relevant NRLCEO team when they’re on song. Despite a scoreline of 8-5 in their NRL game they racked up a 48-17 victory on NRLCEO.
Only one NRLCEO upset compared to the real games this week but let’s take a look at how each game played out from and NRLCEO perspective.
Broncos 8 Vs Panthers 5
What a game that saw the Broncos once again escape extra time by running it on the sixth tackle for a try in the dying minutes of the game. Props to Ben Hunt who once again took a punt ending in a try for Corey Oates. To be fair though if he could kick a field goal he wouldn’t have to rely on luck for a win. Two double WH’s to the Broncos coming to Alex Glenn and Josh McGuire who unfortunately will be suspended this week. Someone needs to tell Andrew McCullough to run the ball, week in week out making the involvements for a double but nowhere near the meters. The halves are still finding their rhythm scoring four points each. Darius Boyd returns without a point, already selected for QLD in the leaked team so pick him up at your own risk but could pay dividends in the back end of the season if he stays fit.
Elijah Taylor was a late inclusion last week and picked up straight where he left off scoring a WH with ease for the Panthers. Also getting a WH this week was Jeremy Latimore and Apisai Koroisau who is going to be in the halves next week so if you’re planning to bench him in your side this week make sure it’s as a back. Returning as hooker is James Segeyaro whose a solid WH week in week out. David Simmons will line up on the wing this weekend and against Manly isn’t a horrible pick if your desperate for a winger and have the terminations to spare. The backs were unable to produce anything for the side without a linebreak or try. Sole points to Matt Moylan with two penalties and a field goal.

Roosters 36 Vs Tigers 4
The Roosters ran rampant over the Tigers last week with a hat trick to Daniel Tupou and a try/WH to Boyd Cordner getting a solid 11 points with an assist too. Mitchell Pearce pushing his claim for the Blues with a solid 10 points this week. Sam Moa sneaks into a WH with 41 this week and is looking better each week.
The Tigers with a lackluster performance and solo try coming to Dene Halatau. Once again the usual WH’s come to Robbie Farah and Aaron Woods joined by Kyle Lovett who was wildly picked up after his Try/WH debut for the year. He sneaks in with 42 so nothing too special but a solid backrower.

Raiders 56 Vs Titans 16
Jarrod Croker scores 29 points this week and was enough to single handily garnish a win for anyone with him, and who helped me reach my CEO high of 103 last week in the Legends of League competition. Sole WH to Shaun Fensom getting 50 while Iosia Soliola managed 38 but scored a try and an assist to get a total of nine points. Double to Blake Austin and Jarrod Croker saw the Raiders come out easy victors. Up against the defence of the Dragons this week though so play their backs with caution.
The Titans tries coming only to Anthony Don picking up a treble. Titans had a horrible game with Ryan James coming close to being put on report numerous times, his anger did little to spark the side but managed a WH with 55 involvements. Running for an average of 7ms he had little impact with the ball. Lachlan Burr scored a WH as the replacement for Greg Bird. Nate Myles managed a WH but could his signing with Manly and origin coming up hinder his involvements hugely, trade him if you can. Blake Ayshford has been named for the Sharks, expect a lot of traffic his way and James Roberts could chalk up some points against him.

Sharks 16 Vs Warriors 20
Andrew Fifita stars for the Sharks who still fall to some Shaun Johnson magic. Luke Lewis continues to score tries and not WHs, but points are points so play him if you have him as he will be working for the Blues spot. Jason Bukuya continues to get a WH and with Anthony Tupou out he should continue to get more minutes. WHs to Wade Graham and Michael Ennis round out their CEO points for the week.
Jonathan Wright gets his third try in as many games, on the end of a powerful backline he continues to score. Can only assume he is in the team through injuries. Konrad Hurrell is suspended again, the player you can’t drop but refused to play consistently is killing me in my keeper league. A double to Simon Mannering again who looks to be one of the top backrow pickups for the year. Solomone Kata crosses the line again. Tuimoala Lolohea keeps his fullback position with the departing Sam Tomkins still injured.

Cowboys 23 Vs Bulldogs 16
The Cowboys come away victors with a huge performance to Michael Morgan scoring a double with an assist to match. James Tamou gets an impressive 54 involvements with 146ms with reports he is now staying next year. Mathew Wright looks set to lock down his spot with a try and season ending injury to Tautau Moga. Ben Spina gets a WH as does Ethan Lowe and Gavin Cooper. Cooper pulls off another one of his try/ WH efforts and looks promising.
The Bulldogs have James Graham back this week and against the Roosters it couldn’t be more perfect. Curtis Rona continues to lead the top try scorer list with tries also to Josh Jackson and Corey Thompson. Jackson gets a Try/ WH this week. David Klemmer gets his first WH scoring 40 but will ride the bench this week, do not expect him to mirror this feat anytime soon. Aiden Tolman gets 63 involvements but only 100 meters. Michael Lichaa continues to kill it in defense with 62 tackles but only 38 meters so no double. Moses Mbye moves to the centers this week with the return of Josh Reynolds.

Sea Eagles 30 Vs Knights 10
Manly get another win beating the Knights at Brooky. Jake Trbojevic just missed out on a WH by 3 but is looking solid up front. Blake Leary looks the man to benefit most from the injury to Buhrer but if Tom Symonds ever plays in his position he may not get the minutes for a WH week in week out. Symonds lines up at 5/8 with Foran out again. Matt Ballin gets over the WH line after failing in his 2 previous attempts. Double to Brett Stewart setup twice by Peta Hiku.
Tariq Sims gets a WH/ Try this week but has never won with the Knights who have won without him… coincidence? Kade Snowden continues to get a WH hitting 40 as did Beau Scott also getting smack bang on 40. Tyler Randell will start again next week but didn’t get close 2 a WH starting so take that how you will, could be inline for more minutes or keeping Adam Clydsdale as an impact hooker. James McManus gets their other try.

Eels 10 Vs Storm 28
Nathan Peats gets a double this week. Other WHs going to Anthony Watmough, Tim Mannah and Danny Wicks who continues to impress at the top level once more. Tepai Moeroa has been named to start after being absent for ages without an explanation. Here is hoping my decision to keep him pays off and he continues the form he has previous to being dropped, which I know doesn’t sound like it makes any sense but I cannot for the life of me explain his dropping. William Hopoate scores with an assist bringing him up to 8. Reece Robinson scores three but looks inline to take over kicking from Chris Sandow who many speculate will not play for the Eels ever again. Big call that one but look to cut him regardless.
The Storm continue to impress with a double to Billy Slater. Dale Finucane continues the trend of the week getting a WH/ Try, just seems the week for it really and who doesn’t like a forward scoring. Kevin Proctor gets another WH with 41 as does Cameron Smith getting 45. Marika Koroibete gets another try on the wing and has proven to be one of the premier wingers of the year. Jesse Bromwich failed me as captain this week scoring 39 involvements, up against Souths this week he should get back into the WH circle.

Rabbitohs 16 Vs Dragons 10
The only upset of the week saw the Rabbitohs win the NRL game but lose the CEO game with four more WHs coming to the Dragons. George Burgess and Ben Lowe get the only WH tries. Isaac Luke starting on the bench saw Cameron McInnes both unable to get a WH sharing minutes. With Adam Reynolds coming back from injury early only to sustain another one and be sidelined for another 6-8 weeks the kicking role is once again up in the air. Issac Luke did a more than adequate job filling in but is starting on the bench, Bryson Goodwin may kick while he is off but this doesn’t help CEO’s who may be looking to use Luke as their kicker.
Tyson Frizell makes a solid return to the Dragons scoring a WH along with Trent Merrin, Jack De Belin, Joel Thompson, Mike Cooper and Mitch Rein. The defensive efforts of this Dragons pack once again shows up with a low score against. Josh Dugan played with an injury but was incredible as a Souths fan im beyond glad he was not at 100% as I fear it would of made a difference. Gareth Widdop scored the first try on the back of a great break from Peter Mata’utia who moves to the wing this week opposite the other try scorer in Jason Nightingale. Solid CEO win from the Dragons rounding out this weeks games.
