Try scoring one hit wonders
There is a lot that goes into an NRLCEO Premiership.
Knowledge of the game and a good eye for the best players is obviously extremely important, but a bit of luck comes into it as well.
You can mostly craft a very decent forward pack and if luck goes your way and you don’t get many injuries then you are halfway there. But of course you need plenty of tries to win a premiership as well and we all know how difficult it can be to pick the top try scorer in the NRL each year. So that’s where a bit of luck in the later round drafts comes into play.
Take the players I am going to mention below for example. None of them are probably picked within the first ten rounds of any draft, yet they went on to dominate for a season and would have helped many lucky CEOs on their way to the finals.

I miss Ash “Too many tries for a nickname” Graham. I also miss nicknaming every other player in my team.
I don’t miss naming Crones Disease McCrone in our championship game ’cause I was nervous JT would be rested in the final round of 2012.
Wow. That’s a HUGE decision back in 2012! Bet you wished we had rolling lockout back then?
Whatever happened to Andrew Everingham?
Playing second division rugby union in Japan for the Fukuoka Sanix Blues. From the NRL to that…
My favourite was in 2004. Amos Roberts went undrafted after starting the year in reserves behind Luke Rooney and Brett Howland. Figuring he’d be first cab off the rank should there be an injury I snapped him up. Sure enough, Howland got injured and Roberts was in for Round 2. After scoring a try in his first match and 4 in his second, ‘Famous Amos’ never looked back, finishing the season as the league’s top try scorer with 23.
