Round 26 Dream Teams
Round 26 Dream Team:
Grand Final week in NRLCEO is always a tense time. So let’s take a look at the players who probably took you to a title!
Tuimala Lolohea was a surprise packet this week! In the last game of the round if you only had him to play you were probably worried. Fast forward 80 minutes, two tries, a try assist and two line breaks later and you may have had a comeback on your hands.
The other dominant player of the round (and indeed the year) was Semi Radradra. As a Raiders fan I’d beg to differ that he even got those first two tries down, but nevertheless it’s fish and chip wrapping now. So let’s just sit back and appreciate his dominance for this year.
The full team is listed below:
1. Tuimala Lolohea (12)
2. Semi Radradra (12)
3. Euan Aitken (10)
4. Jarrod Croker/Kane Linnett/Kurt Mann (9)
5. Pat Richards (10)
6. James Maloney/Johnathan Thurston (6)
7. Benji Marshall (11)
8. Aaron Woods (9)
9. Jake Granville (10)
10. James Tamou (9)
11. Gavin Cooper (9)
12. Wade Graham (9)
13. Tyrone Peachey (8)
Overall Dream Team:
Let’s go straight to the top. Semi Radradra was the NRLCEO Most Valuable Player for 2015 with a huge total of 138 points from just 18 games! 24 tries, six try assists and 25 line breaks. Incredible.
There are three players in equal second overall, which again is incredible after a full season of games.
Curtis Rona was not even a guaranteed starting player at the beginning of the year, let alone NRLCEO superstar. He scored 127 points from 21 tries and 20 line breaks despite missing a few weeks too. Will he be able to back it up in 2016 though? Or will he become the next David Simmons? Time will tell.
Broncos rake Andrew McCullough is as consistent as they come and could quite rightly have been predicted to finish in this position at the start of the year. It’s highly likely he’ll finish this high again next year too. The majority of his 127 points came from four tries and 23 workhorses.
Lastly, Shaun Fensom finally lived up to his full potential playing almost a full season of 23 games. His 127 points came from three tries and a whopping 28 workhorses including five double workhorses. This is of course after the Moneyball Podcast boys anointed him the first ever NRLEO Hall of Famer.
Not too far off, James Tedesco would have been pretty wide odds to take out the top fullback gong at the start of the year. After two injury hit seasons, many expected more of the same. He denied those people the pleasure of saying I told you so by rolling out 124 points through 17 tries and 13 try assists.
Here is the full NRLCEO Dream Team for 2015:
1. James Tedesco (124)
2. Curtis Rona (127)
3. James Roberts (91)
4. Dylan Walker (79)
5. Semi Radradra (138)
6. Anthony Milford (107)
7. Johnathan Thurston (103)
8. Jesse Bromwich (101)
9. Andrew McCullough (127)
10. Kade Snowden (98)
11. Bodene Thompson (108)
12. Simon Mannering/Gavin Cooper (107)
13. Shaun Fensom (127)
